The Land Army was co-founded by Hampshire brothers Ben & Guy Habgood. Having found themselves out of work due to Covid-19, the brothers began looking for farm work as a means to cover their bills.
It was only when searching for farm work that they realised the enormity of the task at hand and the fact that farms and workers needed to be matched quickly to help with labour shortages in the industry.
Fast forward a few days and thelandarmy.jobs was born, with over 20,000 people registering an interest in farm work within a few weeks, before the jobs platform was even launched. While the platform was born to address the immediate need for seasonal farm workers, it has been designed to cater for all types of agricultural jobs.
No The Land Army is an independently operated jobs board helping to connect agricultural jobs with those in need of work. We are not in anyway affiliated to the #pickforbritain campain or the recruitment companies in partnership with the government.
We donate 5% of every post to The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (registered charity number 208858) – farming’s oldest and largest charity. They have been serving the farming community since 1860, offering financial support, practical care and guidance to farming people of all ages, including farmers, farmworkers and dependants.
All applications go directly to each farms application process. Some farms choose to use our own built-in 'Live Applicant Feed' to view candidates profiles whilst other farms opt for applicants to be redirected to their own application.
